Send an email using telnet

In Microsoft Winodws:

1. Click the Start Menu button
2. Select Run
3. Type in (without the quotes) “telnet 110”
4. Hit the OK button

This should open up a command prompt and attempt to connect to the POP3 server.

If you get a message like this “+OK POP3 Server (Version 1.020h) ready.”, type “user merry”, hit the enter key.

Now type “pass $password” where $password is your mail password, and hit the enter key.
