Fraudulent foreign web hosting orders

Sometimes we receive orders from outside of the US.  It’s hard enough to identify fraud so we contact all new clients via telephone prior to approving the account.  However, when you receive an order from outside the US it can be difficult to verify the order.  Therefore, we request that the client send us a copy of their ID.

Here’s the email that we send to all new clients that are outside the US:


Thank you for your recent web hosting order.  Part of our fraud protection guidelines require us to complete an identification process on random orders.  Please reply with a valid copy of your photo ID in order to authenticate your order.
